Temporary Tattoo
Ink without the forever
They're water-resistant, not waterproof. Temporary Tattoos handle showers, hand washing and rain, but long soaks, swimming and scrubbing make them fade faster.
Temporary tattoos hold up well in everyday life. Showering, washing your hands or getting caught in the rain won't affect them much on their own.
What wears them down
Water combined with friction is what breaks them down over time. These shorten the life of a tattoo:
Long showers or baths
Swimming
Washing or scrubbing the same area often
Rubbing with a towel or clothing
Make it last longer
Avoid soaking the tattoo for long periods.
Pat the skin dry instead of rubbing.
Keep oil-based products away from the area, since oil is also what removes the tattoo.
Typical wear is 2 to 5 days, depending on skin type, placement and exposure to water and friction. Read more in How long do temporary tattoos last? and how to apply and remove them, or see Temporary Tattoos.
